Office to gym in one pair

Most office socks look right under trousers and are damp by lunch. Sports socks that stay dry tend to look wrong in a meeting. We built Crew to do both.

We knit Crew from recycled COOLMAX® yarn because it dries faster than cotton, bamboo and wool. Silver yarn in the footbed kills the bacteria that cause the smell. Each pair has soft terry loop cushioning under the foot and through the Achilles, a reinforced heel and toe, arch support and mesh ventilation.

Height, fit and colours

Crew sits below the calf, the tallest of our four cuts. A ribbed cuff holds it up without squeezing and a 90 degree heel keeps it from sliding into your shoe. It suits boots, RMs, dress shoes and trainers. It comes in black, dark grey, midnight navy, stone grey and light mocha. Sizes are US M 5-9 / W 6.5-10.5 and US M 9-13 / W 11-14.

Crew or Mid-Crew

Crew is a little longer than Mid-Crew (about 4cm) and has a finer rib for a cleaner look under trousers. Our Mid-Crew socks stop above the ankle bone and suit trainers and shorts. Mid-Crew comes in black, white, vanilla and mist grey. Both use the same yarn and cushioning.

What are crew socks?

A crew sock comes up past the ankle and finishes below the calf. It's the height most work and dress socks come in.

Can I wear them as dress socks?

Yes. Mainly in black, dark grey or midnight navy, where Crew sits clean under trousers and passes for a dress sock in a meeting. Most dress socks are thin cotton and hold sweat by the afternoon. Ours are a little thicker with cushioning underfoot and keep your feet dry under a suit or in chinos.

Are they good for the gym and running?

Yes. Crew is one of our gym socks and has the same COOLMAX yarn and terry cushioning as the lower cuts. Its height suits lifting and long runs.

Will they fit bigger calves?

For most people, yes. We (the founders) both have solid calves and the cuff sits snug on us without squeezing. If yours are bigger than most, try one pair first.

What's the difference between crew and quarter socks?

Crew finishes below the calf and our quarter crew socks sit between the ankle and Mid-Crew. Quarter suits a hot gym or a run in shorts. Crew handles both, plus boots and trousers at work. Both use the same yarn and come in the same two sizes.

Can I wear them with shorts?

Plenty of people do, at the gym, on a run or on the court. If you'd rather less sock showing, Mid-Crew sits 4cm lower.
